The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Rick Hecht, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
Sheriff Ken McClure asked the Board to consider the disposition of a 2003 Ford Explorer as it is no longer used as a Sheriffs vehicle. The Board discussed trade-in on another vehicle, sale of the vehicle by sealed bids or transferring the vehicle to another department. No action was taken.
Sherri Wilson, Sac County Sanitarian, presented the master matrix review for the animal confinement feeding facility located in Section 8 of Wheeler Township. The score was high enough to pass all requirements and she recommended the Board approve the application for construction.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to approve the Master Matrix scoring and construction permit for the Great Iowa Pork Site located in Section 8, Wheeler Twp. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to deny application for a liquor permit submitted by the Holstein Chamber of Commerce for RAGBRAI. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to appoint Jim Bullock as Sac County representative to the Region XII Council of Governments Hazard Mitigation Committee. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to approve and support the placement of Sac County Barn Quilt signs on the new Highway 20 alignment. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to approve application for a tile crossing between Sections 13 and 24, Wall Lake Township. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board reviewed the Engineers report on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
The Board took up the canvass of the Primary election held June 5, 2012, and offer the following results on the Republican ticket:
For US Representative, Dist 4: Steve King 549; for State Senator, Dist.6: Matthew Biede 144, Adam Schweers 150, Mark Segebart 263; for State Representative, District 11: Gary Worthan 509; for Board of Supervisors District 1: Jack Bensley 121, Ranell Drake 153; for County Auditor: James W. Dowling 534; For County Sheriff: Ken McClure 556.
The Results on the Democratic ticket:
For US Representative District 4; Christie Vilsack 87; For State Senator, District 6; Mary Bruner 84.
