The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Dean Stock, Chairman, presiding.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to amend the agenda to conduct a public hearing on vacating a
portion of a certain road in Sac County and to set a date for a public hearing on completion of a drainage district cleanout.
Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to call for a completion hearing on the repairs done to DD 73
for Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at 1:30 PM in the Boardroom of the Sac County Courthouse. Ayes all, motion carried.
At 11:00, the Chairman opened the public hearing on a proposal to vacate a portion of Canyon Road. Those
present included Jeff and Kelly Kreft and Bruce and Tancy Becker. Ron Haden, Sac County Engineer, advised the Board
that notices were duly sent to adjacent landowners, utility companies and others and explained that it was the intent
of this hearing to vacate approximately 637 feet of Canyon road.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to close the public hearing after all present were heard.
Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to vacate approximately 637 feet of Canyon Road beginning
at a point 1600’ northerly of the South line of the NE ¼ of Section 15, Jackson Twp and proceeding southerly for
approximately 637 feet. Ayes Bensley, Hecht and Stock; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley, with the consideration that the adjacent property owners
will erect gates at the end of the vacated road, Sac County will build dirt or rock berms in the right of way on either side
of the gates to restrict unauthorized traffic. Ayes all, motion carried.
The engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance
and construction projects.
Lisa Bethune, Sac County CPC, presented the actual cost report for case management for the year ending
June 30, 2010 for the Board’s approval.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve the cost report as submitted and direct the
Chairman to sign the report. Ayes all, motion carried.
