The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Rick Hecht, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to amend the agenda to count the cash on hand and close the books for fiscal year 2009. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.

The Chairman of the Board administered the Oath of Office to Sonny Bruns, newly hired sheriff’s deputy for Sac County.

As advertised, the Auditor opened two sealed bids for a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria, which had been used as a sheriff’s vehicle. The bids were read as follows: Mark Hansen’s Rex Chevrolet - $1666.00, and Mark Von Ahn - $1510.00.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to accept the bid submitted by Mark Hansen’s Rex Chevrolet for $1666.00. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to approve a retail wine sales permit application submitted by the Prairie Peddlar. Ayes all, motion carried.

Lisa Bethune, Sac County CPC, submitted several contracts for the Board’s consideration. It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to approve a contract with Mallard View Center in Carroll for sercices. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to approve a contract with New Hope Village in Carroll for services. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to approve a contract with Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames for services. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to approve a contract with Spencer Hospital for services. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to appropriate the funds as follows to the individual departments for fiscal year ending June 30, 2010:
Supervisors - $156,977, Auditor - $199,282, Treasurer - $305,818, Attorney - $193,205, Sheriff - $644,090, Court Services – $32,550, Recorder - $134,377, Veteran’s Affairs - $45,491, Conservation - $504,841, Board of Health - $479,284, Road Side Veg Management - $120,567, Medical Examiner - $8,500, Correctional Services - $275,945, Libraries - $100,187, Historical Preservation - $8,400, Ambulance - $541,994, Communications - $259,558, Planning and Zoning - $4,601, General Services - $294,221, Data Processing - $130,705, Mental Health Administration - $1,162,220, Juvenile Probation - $5,250, Central Point Coordinator - $75,700, Case Management - $228,080, Assessor - $219,001, Emergency Management / E-911 - $175,092, Secondary Roads - $4,219,700. Ayes all, motion carried. Approval of employee wages for the fiscal year were included in the same motion.

The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to approve a 2.5% salary increase for the non-union secondary road employees. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to approve the Calhoun County Board’s recommendation of a 2.5% salary increase for the County Engineer. Ayes all, motion carried.

With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
