The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Dean Stock, Chairman, presiding.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to amend the agenda to consider window replacement bids for the G A R Hall.
Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board of Supervisors noted that they would meet on Monday, June 30, 2008, at 4:00 PM to count cash in the various offices.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve a resolution waiving the County’s right to appeal a decision
of the Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources to approve a construction permit application for confinement animal feeding operation submitted
by Dan Drey. Ayes Bensley, Hecht and Stock; nays none, motion carried.
Donna Geery, Sac County Clerk of Court, discussed a change in procedure in processing claims submitted to the court system
for criminal, juvenile, civil and law library costs.
The Board discussed what to do with two surplus copy machines. After some discussion, it was moved by Hecht and
seconded by Bensley to contact the Sac County Landfill and the Horizons Group to donate the copy machines to those entities.
Ayes all, motion carried.
No bids had been submitted for window replacement at the G A R Hall. The Board was informed that one potential bidder
had contacted the Auditor’s office and stated that he was still working on a proposal. It was moved by Hecht and seconded by
Bensley to extend the deadline for bids to Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at 10:00 AM. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to approve a list of late claims before the end of the fiscal year, filed
in the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance
and construction projects.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve the contract renewal with Calhoun County to share the
services of the county engineer for fiscal year 2008-09. Ayes all, motion carried. The contract calls for an annual salary of $105,570.00
and benefits to be split equally between the two counties. Calhoun County will furnish the engineer with a vehicle for transportation
and Sac County will reimburse Calhoun County 50 cents per mile.
