The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Dean Stock, Chairman, presiding.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to amend the agenda to consider drainage issues. Ayes all,
motion carried.
The Board was reminded of a couple of items that need to be addressed before the group health insurance meeting
on May 22, 2008. No action was taken at this time.
Supervisors Stock and Hecht reviewed the results of some investigative work done on Jt. DD 7 and 59. It appears that
the tile in the Northwest corner of the Town of Lytton is plugged with tree roots and is restricting the flow of water as it drains
that drainage district. The Board will wait for the drainage engineer’s recommendation.
The Board and the Auditor discussed several ways to improve the conditions of the Senior Center in Monument Square,
including window replacements, insulation, wall paneling, lowered ceilings and re-locating the bathroom. The Auditor will meet
with the Horizon’s group to discuss priorities.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance
and construction projects.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve the plans and specs for bridge replacement on the West
side of Section 6, Eureka Twp and call for a bid letting to be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at 10:00 AM in the Board Room.
Ayes all, motion carried.
Peg Dettmann, Sac County Veteran’s Affairs Director advised the Board of some grant money available through the
State of Iowa to be used for the local Veteran’s Affairs offices.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve a grant application in the amount of $4,580 to be used for
Sac County Veteran’s Affairs programs. Ayes all, motion carried.
