The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Rick Hecht, Chairman, presiding.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
Maxine Bettin, Joyce Bettin, Steve Gunderson and Lois Olerich, all representatives of the Association of Retarded Citizens,
submitted a list of concerns for services to persons with disabilities. The Board responded to those concerns and reiterated the
fact that new legislation must be passed in order for the county to levy a higher property tax to cover the costs of additional services.
The Board acknowledged the fact that a mistake had been made in the 2006-07 budget when the maximum amount allowed was
not levied for Mental Health Services.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to appoint Jeff Scott to the Sac County Conservation Board to fill a
vacancy created by the resignation of Mark Adams. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Sheriff and the Board of Supervisors called the architect to discuss the completion of the communication center project.
There was a problem with the interrogation rooms not being sound-proofed to satisfaction. Several options were discussed and
some carpet will be added to the floors along with sweeps and seals applied to the doors. A cable management system will be
discussed to hide cables and wires in the communication center.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to adopt County Resolution number 07-0130, supporting
Housing Rehabilitation Program Applications to the Federal Home Loan Bank and the USDA Rural Development Housing Preservation
through Region XII Council of Governments. Ayes Bensley, Hecht and Stock; nays none, motion carried.
The Board reviewed a report of activities of the county secondary road crews and the status of current maintenance
and construction projects faxed by the Engineer.
