The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Rick Hecht, Chairman, presiding.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved with one correction; the $107,000 grant for the communications center does
not require matching funds from the County. An additional $50,000 is needed to complete the update of equipment.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to amend the agenda to include consideration of a liquor
permit renewal. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to recognize the week of October 3 through 9 as
National 4-H Week. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to approve a contract agreement with Region XII Council
of Governments to update the county’s personnel policy and office procedures handbook. Ayes all, motion carried.
The contract agreement was extended to October 31, 2004
Ed Rohner, Matt Ringgenberg and Gordon Cochran, Sac County EMS personnel, presented and initial proposal
from the Sac County Professional Paramedic Association to the Sac County Board of Supervisors for changes to the current
union contract to become effective July 1, 2005. The only item negotiable in the three year contract is salary items.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to acknowledge receipt of the initial proposal.
Ayes all, motion carried. No date for a response was set.
It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Stock to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the
Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to approve an application for renewal for off-premise liquor,
wine or beer sales and Sunday Sale privilege submitted by Port’s Petroleum. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Bensley to call for three public hearing on the updated county
Code of Ordinances at 11:00 AM on October 12, 19, and 26, 2004. Ayes all, motion carried.
The engineer updated the board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance
