The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jack Bensley, Chairman, presiding.
The minutes of January 14, 2003, were approved as submitted. In the first order of business, Chairman Bensley administered the
oath of office to Scott Brouwer, the newly hired Sheriff’s deputy. Tonya Konigs from the West Iowa Community Mental Health Center
submitted a proposal for funding that agency for fiscal year 2003-04. No action was taken. Tom Schroeder, Chairman of the Sac County
Compensation Board presented the recommendations for elected officials’ salaries for fiscal year 2003-04, which included a 3.5% increase.
No action was taken. Ron Haden, County Engineer, updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and offered brief
discussion on erecting deer crossing signs on county paved roads. It was mentioned that the comprehensive land use planning
meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 30, 2003, in the courtroom at 7:00PM. It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht
to appoint Russ Kroeger and Graham Hoag as commissioner for DD 81 proposed annexation. Ayes all, motion carried. With there
being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned. Secretary S/James
