The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jack Bensley, Chairman, presiding.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
The County Treasurer was asked why the delinquent tax list was listed in only one official newspaper. This is addressed in
Iowa Code 446.9 (2). The Treasurer can appoint at least one official newspaper to list the tax list each year.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Kroeger to approve the Resolution naming Depositories for the various Sac County offices.
Ayes all, motion carried. This list of depositories includes all the banks in Sac County.
It was moved by Kroeger and seconded by Hecht to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office.
Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Kroeger and seconded by Hecht to approve payment number 4 in the amount of $8021.07 for DD 92 and
payment number 7 in the amount of $14146.65 for DD 60, Lateral #1 to Spring Lake Construction. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Kroeger to approve the following budget adjustments to the current 2001-02 budget:
County Attorney - $4797.54 in Public Safety Service Area; Board of Supervisors - $3047.30, Data Processing - $1827.73, and
Non Departmental - $2018.14 all of which are part of Interprogram Service Areas. Ayes all, motion carried.
Jackie Duffy, PHN Director, Barb Rench and Carrie Horner were present to explain a program to promote healthy mothers
and healthy babies through Sac County Health Services’ Family STEPS program. The program requires a fiscal agent to oversee
the disbursements of the grant to fund the program.
It was moved by Kroeger and seconded by Hecht to appoint Sac County Auditor’s office as the fiscal agent for the program.
Ayes all, motion carried.
Ron Haden, County Engineer, updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and progress reports of current projects.
It was moved by Kroeger and seconded by Hecht to direct the Chairman to sign the three-year contract with the
Sac County Secondary Roads union. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board and the Auditor discussed with the Engineer ownership of the Sac County web page and who should pay
for the hosting fees. Currently the payment is made from the County Engineer’s budget. No action was taken pending further discussion.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting adjourned.
