The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jack Bensley, Chairman, presiding.
The minutes of January 15, 2002, were approved as submitted. It was moved by Kroeger and seconded by Hecht to approve
an extension of a contract with Region XII Council of Governments to update the Countys code of ordinances. Ayes all, motion carried.
Scot McDonough, Sac County Ambulance Service Director, presented a policy for billing adjustments for ambulance services.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Kroeger to table any action on the ambulance service billing adjustment policy until February 5th,
at which time, some corrections will have been made. Ayes all, motion carried. The Board and Mr. McDonough reviewed the semi
annual report for the ambulance service for the period from July 1, 2001 through December 31, 2001. It was moved by Kroeger and
seconded by Hecht to approve an application for Class C, Sunday sales, and outdoor service liquor permit. Ayes all, motion carried.
On separate motions, the following drainage levies were approved: DD 76 and 133, 290% levy to provide $3,952.70; DD 19 and 26,
a 70% levy to provide $20,503.54; DD 20 and 119 tile branch 4 on OD BR-A, a 535% levy to provide $910.36; DD 20 and 119 tile branch 6 on OD BR-A,
a 280% levy to provide $1,811.04; DD 6 sub 1, a levy of 2% to provide %2,976.70; DD 12, a .5% levy to provide $1,102.50; DD 30, a 10% levy
to provide $1,465.47; DD 73, a 18% levy to provide $4,416.10.
The following levies were approved in DD 90-290: Br 1 8.84%, Br 2 59.45%, Br 3 6.06%, Br 4 66.83%,
Br 5 9.77%, Lat 5-A 251.20%, Br 6 280%, Br 7 197.46%, Lat 7-A 103.99%, Lat 7-B 91.84%, Lat 7-C 47.88%,
Br 8 53%, Lat 8-A 42.26%, Br 9 34.52%, Lat 9-A 24.22%, Lat 9-B 9.72%, Br 10 8.10%,
Br 11 18%, Lat 11-A 9.58%, and Lat 11-B 65.08%. The date of levy on all of the above levies was established on September 1, 2002.
All assessments are delinquent October 1, 2002. It was moved by Kroeger and seconded by Hecht to include $3,125.00
in the 2002-03 budget for membership fee and mutual protection fund associated with the Iowa Drainage District Association.
Ayes all, motion carried. After some discussion, it was moved by Hecht and seconded by Kroeger to approve the
comments as proposed to Hunzelman, Putzier and Co., regarding the 2000-01 Sac County audit report. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Sac and Calhoun County Boards of Supervisors met via telephone conference call at 11:30 AM, to discuss the possibility
of sharing an engineer. It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Kroeger to pursue the development of a contract and a
28E agreement to share an engineer with Calhoun County. Ayes all, motion carried. A similar motion was adopted by the
Calhoun County Board. The two boards will meet at 1:30 PM, on Friday, February 1, 2002, at the Calhoun County Courthouse
to discuss details. There being no further business, on motion, the meeting adjourned.
