August 26, 2008 Board Room 10:00 AM The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Dean Stock, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted. It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried. The County Engineer submitted an update on activities of the county road crews and the status of the current maintenance and construction projects. The Board reviewed the following bids submitted and opened on Thursday, August 21, 2008, for Project BROS-CO81(54)—8J-81, located in Section 1, Viola Twp: Graves Construction $293,474.50 Dixon Construction $297,039.00 Cunningham – Reis $325,895.50 Godberson – Smith $328,537.46 Christensen Bros $332,640.00 It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to accept the low bid of $293,474.50 submitted by Graves Constrution Comapany. Ayes all, motion carried. It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to approve and sign the contract and bond for approximately 1800 square yards of PCC patching on County Roads M-27, M-43, M-68, D-37, N-14 and miscellaneous spots submitted by Cedar Falls Construction Company at a cost of $163,981.01. Ayes all, motion carried. It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve a claim to Verizon Wireless for service to Sac County Support Service. Ayes all, motion carried. It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to approve an application for approval of construction across Sac County drainage districts number 41 & 43 submitted by Iowa Network Services for placement of underground fiber optic cable. Ayes all, motion carried. It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve a proposed tile repair in Joint DD 59 and 7 located in Section 7, Cedar Twp, Sac County, in the amount of $12,423.00. The recommendation was to replace approximately 550’ of RCP tile, with dual wall plastic pipe, install one 12’’ intake and two 6’’ intakes, clear existing tile line under the road and remove trees.
