Proclamation - Open Burning Prohibited

The State Fire Marshall, pursuant to Iowa Code 100.40(1) 1995, after investigation has found that conditions in Sac County are such that open burning constitutes a danger to life or property.

It has been ordered that no person shall engage in open burning in Sac County, effective August 8, 2012 at 4:00pm, until the State Fire Marshall is notified and determines such conditions no longer exist.
